The metro connects Valencia Airport directly with the city centre, Joaquín Sorolla train station (high-speed: AVE, Avlo, OUIGO and Iryo) and the seafront area. The latter includes Valencia’s beaches, the commercial port and the ferry terminal, with services to the Balearic Islands (Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca), connections to North Africa (Algeria) and Mediterranean cruises.
It is a fast, convenient and affordable option both to leave the terminal upon arrival and to reach your flight from anywhere in the city.

Metrovalencia lines and destinations from the airport
From Valencia Airport, two metro lines operate that connect it with different parts of the city and its metropolitan area:
Line 3 (Rafelbunyol ↔ Aeroport [Airport]): connects the airport with the city centre and the northern part of the metropolitan area.
Line 5 (Marítim-Serrería ↔ Aeroport [Airport]): connects the airport with the city centre and the seafront area, including beaches and the port.
Both lines share the route to Valencia city centre and provide easy access to the stations most used by travellers: Xàtiva and Colón. In addition, from the station of Àngel Guimerà you can access the rest of the Metrovalencia network, and at Xàtiva there is a connection with Line 10, which takes you to the complex of the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (City of Arts and Sciences) and to the arena Roig Arena.

Tarifas y billetes del metro (a/desde el aeropuerto) 2026
El trayecto en metro entre el Aeropuerto de Valencia y la ciudad pertenece a la Zona AB+, por lo que el coste es ligeramente más alto que para un trayecto urbano (Zona A). El precio es idéntico en ambos sentidos: desde el aeropuerto a la ciudad o viceversa. Opciones habituales:
Single ticket Aeroport (Zone AB+): 4,80 €
Return ticket Aeroport: 8.40 € (valid only on the same day)
SUMA 10 AB+ card: 12.50 € (10 trips; includes airport; average price 1.25 €/trip)
SUMA 10 A card: 9.00 € (10 trips; city only, does not include airport)
Valencia Tourist Card: 24/48/72 h transport + attraction discounts
📍 Where to buy: Ticket machines, ticket offices and the Metrovalencia office in Arrivals (level 0, next to the metro station).
💳 Card cost: The SUMA card has an initial cost of €1 when purchased for the first time.

From the plane → to the Metro station (Aeroport)
Step-by-step guide (just landed):
1️⃣ Si vienes de fuera del espacio Schengen, pasa primero el control de pasaportes.
2️⃣ Recoge tu equipaje en la zona de cintas (o sal directamente si viajas solo con equipaje de mano).
3️⃣ Dirígete hacia la salida de Arrivals. En el pasillo verás los carteles amarillos de transporte con iconos de metro, taxi, bus, VTC y alquiler de coches.
4️⃣ Sigue las flechas del icono de metro

5️⃣ Baja a la planta -1 por escaleras mecánicas o ascensor.
6️⃣ Compra tu billete en las máquinas automáticas (efectivo/tarjeta) o en la oficina de información de Metrovalencia situada junto a la estación.
7️⃣ Valida el billete en los tornos y accede al andén de la Línea 3 o 5.

Step-by-step guide (before your flight):
Sube a un tren de la L3 o L5 en dirección “Aeroport” desde tu estación más cercana (Xàtiva, Colón, Marítim-Serrería…).
Baja en la estación Aeroport (última parada de la L3 o L5).
Sal por los tornos de validación.
Sube dos plantas hasta la planta 1 (Salidas / Departures) siguiendo los carteles. Puedes hacerlo por escaleras mecánicas o ascensor.
Si necesitas facturar, dirígete al mostrador de tu aerolínea.
Si viajas solo con equipaje de mano, ve directamente al control de seguridad.
Comprueba en las pantallas la puerta de embarque asignada para tu vuelo.

💡 Useful tips
Valida siempre tu billete al entrar y salir de la estación (según corresponda). En las líneas de tranvía, donde no hay puertas de acceso al andén, solo de pasa la tarjeta antes de entrar. Los revisores pueden solicitar el billete o tarjeta en cualquier momento, tanto dentro de los trenes (especialmente en los tranvías), como a la entrada o salida. La multa por viajar sin billete es de 150€.- Horarios: el metro funciona aprox. de 05:30 a 23:30 h; los viernes, sábados y vísperas de festivo hay servicio nocturno hasta las 03:00 h.
Frequency: cada 15–20 min, aunque puede variar según la hora o el día.
Equipaje: se permite llevar maletas y equipaje de mano; colócalos de forma que no bloqueen puertas ni pasillos.- Pago contactless: las máquinas aceptan efectivo y tarjeta bancaria; también puedes usar la tarjeta SUMA.

Where is the metro station in the airport?
La estación de metro está dentro de la terminal, en la planta -1, en el extremo más cercano a la terminal regional. Solo tienes que seguir las señales de “Metro” en el interior del aeropuerto. Se accede en 3–5 minutos a pie desde la zona de Llegadas.
Las líneas 3 y 5 conectan directamente el aeropuerto con el centro de Valencia, la estación de tren y otros puntos clave de la ciudad.
How long does the metro take to reach the city centre of Valencia?
El trayecto desde el aeropuerto hasta las estaciones céntricas de Xàtiva o Colón dura unos 25–30 minutos, dependiendo de la hora del día y la frecuencia de paso. Estas paradas están junto a la Estación del Norte y a pocos minutos a pie de muchos hoteles y del casco histórico.
What is the metro schedule from the airport?
De lunes a viernes, el servicio empieza sobre las 05:30 h y termina cerca de las 23:30 h.
Los viernes, sábados y vísperas de festivo hay servicio nocturno ampliado hasta las 03:00 h.

Can I pay by bank card?
Sí. Las máquinas aceptan efectivo y tarjetas bancarias. También puedes usar la tarjeta SUMA, que es recargable y válida en metro, tranvía, autobús y cercanías.

Is the SUMA 10 A valid for travelling to the airport?
No. El aeropuerto está en la zona AB+, por lo que necesitas un billete sencillo Aeroport, de ida y vuelta, o una tarjeta SUMA 10 AB+.

Sí. Hasta el 30 de junio de 2026 hay una reducción del 40 % en títulos multiviaje SUMA.
Además, los menores de 10 años viajan gratis acompañados de un adulto con billete válido.
Una misma tarjeta SUMA puede ser utilizada por varios viajeros, por lo que sale mucho más rentable y económico que el billete individual.
How do I get from the metro to the check-in area or security control?
Al bajar en la estación Aeroport, sigue los carteles hacia la planta 1 (Eixides / Salidas / Departures). El recorrido puede hacerse en ascensor o escaleras mecánicas.
Si facturas equipaje, dirígete a tu mostrador de aerolínea.
Si solo llevas equipaje de mano, pasa directamente al control de seguridad.
